It is understood they were married in secret and it was 3 months before the family found out.
I think it is more likely they said they were married earlier because George Richards was born in February and they did not marry until July.

James and Rose lived at Southwick Mews, London, where James was a Hansom Cab driver until they moved to Wyville Lincolnshire in about 1908.
At Wyville they ran a small farm called Hilltop.
Sometime after the birth of their grandaughter Rosemary Shelbourn (daughter of Gladys Burton and her husband Robert George Shelbourn b 1932) the Shelbourn's moved to Hilltop Farm to help Jim Burton run the farm. Rose Hannah died in 1930 and it was too much for him to run on his own.
Below is an extract from an email written by Rex Shelbourn in October 2007.
"We were living at Brook Cottage when the war started, (Sept 3rd 1939). We left Wyville on April 6th or maybe the 5th 1939 I think, and moved to the 'Walton, Farm house, it was only for a few months but Frodinghams insisted on having the phone connected so that they could get hold of dad at any time of the day or night as with war looming the quarry was working 24hrs. We were only there through spring and early summer before we moved to Gunby. Waltons farm was only a decent walk from Great Ponton and the 'Harvard training planes' that the American's sent over to train the English pilots on were operating from Gonerby air base all day and most nights ( making a hell of a noise).
That's about all that I can remember about that period ,except that we used to return to Wyville at least one night a week to 'poach' the pheasants as the old butcher relied on them for his 'posh' customers."
Rose Hannah died in October 1930, aged 61 and is buried in Wyville Churchyard. There is no headstone.

He was buried in the churchyard at St Michael's Church, Oulton Broad, on the 17th January 1948. There is no headstone. (Ref: St Catherines House, Deaths, Lothingland A-F, March 1948 Vol 4b 835)"
