Elizabeth Loughead (Gribble) was an artist and several of her paintings, which were given to her brother Wesley Wycliffe Gribble, still remain in the family.
On the back of one of these paintings dated 1928 is the following inscription:

The last of the paintings, The Three Sisters, Yosemite National Park is dated 1963 by which time she would have been 86 years old.
