The details below are recorded on Page 497 & 498 of the book - in the entry for Joseph Walker
" Joseph Walker, farmer of Redhill, was born at Norwood, South Australia, in 1857. He is the second surviving son of the late Mr. William Walker who left Lincoln, England for South Australia, in 1848,voyaging by the ship "Katherine".
Mr. Joseph Walker was edsucated at Mr Dumas school at Mount Barker and has followed agricultural pursuits from his boyhood. As a lad of twelve he drove a plough for his late father, on whose property his experience was chiefly gained, and with whom he was associated until the death of the latter. He then came into pocession of the estate, and has resided there ever since, following a sucessful career. In 1900 Mr. Walker married Alice Edith, daughter of the late Mr. Joseph Denson, of Narridy, and has one daughter."
Note: The Walkers came to Australia in 1851 on the Catherine. CW May 2007

Death
The following inscription from the family bible of William & Isabella Walker reads:
" Joseph Walker son of above (William Walker) died August 20th 1940 age 82 years".
I suspect this entry may have been recorded by Maurice Walker. CW May 07

Joseph married Alice Edith DENSON, daughter of Joseph DENSON and Unknown, on 8 Aug 1900 in Res of Joseph Denson Narridy dist Clare. (Alice Edith DENSON was born in 1880, died on 19 Oct 1969 in Whyalla South Australia and was buried in Redhill South Australia.)

"Joseph Walker& Alice Edith Denson was married at Narridy August 8th 1900".
This appears to be the last marriage William Walker made in the family bible - just 3 years before his death. CW May 2007
