Omeo
Oral Family History indicates Jack & Jean moved to Omeo, Victoria soon after their marriage with Barbara Lucie and William John (Bill) both born at Omeo in 1932 and 1935 respectively. By 1941 the family were back in South Australia at Streaky Bay.
I have speculated as to why "Omeo", and wonder if the Omeo goldfields were where William Walker (1822) and his brothers may have made their fortunes in the 1860's (1862-1865) but the snippet below was found on the Omeo history web site.

"Mine closures due to the war deprived farmers of their markets, and drought and rabbit plagues also reduced their income. The population declined to a minimum during the 1930's with Omeo's streets filled with empty shops".

It now seems to me that it would have been relatively inexpensive to buy or lease a building to set up business in Omeo so this may have been the reason Jack and Jean chose Omeo above anywhere else to make their first home.
